Despite the introduction of the 'standard' PC, there are often times when a disk from another person cannot be read using the software you have on your machine.
It would take up too much space to list all the file types here so we operate a simple 'no conversion success - no charge' policy.
If it's a text file the chances are your word processor will make a good attempt to read it and will often display most of the words. However, more often than not, you will be faced with a mass of unintelligible symbols and formatting instructions, each line shown as a separate paragraph and any detailed work such as tables and footnotes, lost forever.
The situation is usually much worse when graphic files are involved. If the graphic was created on the same type of PC it's not unusual to find it has been saved in some obscure flavour of TIFF or EPS and is thus rendered useless as far as your favourite slide presentation package is concerned. If it was created on another type of PC you may find you can't even read the disk (and that's assuming it fits your PC!).
Of course if direct file translation is not possible, we also offer a full document scanning and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) service.
